~*Chibi Act Two: Ami-Chan*~ Sailor Moon Desserts Replica Series

Hi everyone! ~ヾ(^∇^) Welcome back to DecoJenn’s Cafe :3

Sorry for the kind of long hiatus. Life has been a little crazy. between switching jobs, and revamping the Etsy store, I’ve been pretty preoccupied lately. Yesterday though, I finally sat down, conquered my fears, and tackled the next in the Sailor Moon Dessert Series. Honestly, I was very intimidated by this project, it was something I have never really tried with clay, but I must say I am happy with how it turned out! 🙂

Chibi Act Two – Ami-Chan (Sailor Mercury) – Creme de Menthe Ice Cream

Hey look, I learned how to use my camera, at long last!!!

Hey look, I learned how to use my camera, at long last!!!  The cup, ice cream, curly cues, shiny balls, and plate were very meticulously made out of polymer clay.

Katharina’s original dessert is completely edible, aside from the plate. That’s amazing! I totes want a chocolate cup, don’t you?  :p

What is this, dessert for ants!?

Here you can get the jist of the actual scale, my tiny hands don't really do it justice.

Let. Me. Tell. You. About. Those. Curly Cues. >_<”’ I must have redone them over 7 times, and on the last try, I got lucky they came out as good as they did. Actually, the curly cues got lucky as well, since their predecessors ended up angrily squished and thrown into the trash in a fit of frustrated rage. The shiny balls were really fun to make. I used an artificial sugar to make them look like the original-ish. (I do not know what this “artificial sugar actually is, though I have a sinking suspicion that it is sand. >_> If anyone knows, please comment below ^_^)

You can find Katharina’s hilarious original post and recipe in the link below. 🙂

Thanks for checking out this post! Take it easy, my friends!

** Introducing Sailor Moon Dessert Replica Miniatures ** or … ~**Chibi Act One – Usagi**~

Hello ~ヾ(^∇^) Welcome to DecoJenn’s cafe! *^_^*

Today I have some exciting news! Let me give a little background to better explain it.

One day while browsing the Reddit, I saw some most excellent home-made and completely original Sailor Moon desserts. Immediately I thought how awesome it would be to make little miniature versions of them, so I contacted my new friend Katharina at A Pretty Cake Machine and she gave me the green light on recreating her desserts from clay!

This is the first in the series, with the rest to follow as time goes on. Since these are smaller versions, each new sweets replica will be titled a “Chibi” act, as chibi is Japanese for “small or little” (for those of my readers who are not Japanese lingo savvy :P)

Now on with the show!

Chibi Act One – Usagi (Sailor Moon) – Creampuff Cake

Please ignore the TV lookin lines! I took the images in this post with my mobile phone and not the fancy camera, so they are a bit wonky.

The cake is sitting on a quarter for scale… It is tiny! Also I promise there will be better pictures next time >.<

The real Creampuff Cake can be found at the link below. I suggest everyone check it out and see how this decadent treat is made. 🙂
